How to buy Greek football tickets as a visitor
Planning to see Olympiacos, Panathinaikos or AEK in Athens? Here is what visitors need to know in 2026 — and how to skip the hassle.
Where are tickets sold?
Big Greek clubs sell tickets mainly online through their official ticketing sites (for example Olympiacos uses olympiacos.more.com). Always check the club's official site first.
When do tickets go on sale?
For most league matches tickets are released only a few days to about two weeks before kick-off, so dates can feel last-minute for travellers.
Do I need a member card?
Some clubs, such as Olympiacos and AEK, ask buyers to get a season member card first. Panathinaikos uses its Club 1908 membership app. Rules change each season, so check the club page.
Can foreigners buy tickets?
Yes, but you may need to verify your identity with the club's ticket office, and tickets are usually tied to the buyer's name and ID.
Do derbies sell out?
Derbies like Olympiacos–Panathinaikos or AEK–Olympiacos have some of the highest demand of the season and can sell out quickly, and away fans are often restricted.
